Bloggiesta Goal Post

Hey, today’s the start of Bloggiesta! I have a to-do list that I’m hoping to plow through this weekend! I’m excited! And while you’re here, you could always stop by my mini-challenge about sidebars (:

  • Schedule FTF’s and WOW’s for the next month
  • Brainstorm/draft discussion posts
  • Email authors interview questions
  • Cross-post reviews to Goodreads and Amazon
  • Figure out how Feedly works
  • Get posts ready for Fairy Tale Fortnight (super excited!)
  • COMMENT EVERYWHERE!
  • Catch up on reviews

That’s probably it for now. What are you working on during Bloggiesta?

  1. I've always wondered. Is it basically the thing to just email authors and ask if they'd like to be interviewed? Is there a level of author (like bestselling?) where they're just so famous it's not worth asking?

    1. I guess so. That's how it's worked for me. The authors I've contacted are mostly debut authors. I usually check their website before contacting them, though, because most will say on their site whether they accept interview requests. There is probably a point where an author just can't because they're writing a dozen other books, have a movie deal, and get thousands of fan emails every day. That still leaves 99% of authors open (:

    2. Thanks so much! I've been thinking about finding more authors to interview!

    3. Pages Unbound, as Debz has mentioned, check out their blogs as it normally states there whether they are willing to participate in Interviews or not. If there's nothing that states otherwise, email them or even ask on Twitter if they'd have time to participate before emailing them the question.

Normally they are pretty friendly even if they're not able to ;)

You won't know till you ask...

    4. Oh, yeah. Always check with them before sending the questions (though you probably already knew that :D )

  3. I'm so excited for Fairytale fortnight. I'm thinking of doing a few things for it. I have been using bloglovin' and I like it so much better than feedly.

    1. I think I like Bloglovin' and Feedly about the same, but Feedly ended up winning out because I can use it on my Android devices as well as laptop, making it a lot more convenient for me to read posts while on the go.

    2. Is Bloglovin like Feedly? I actually thought it was a GFC alternative. I'm really having a hard time deciding which is the most popular GFC alternative, whether it be Linky, Networked Blogs or BlogLovin...maybe I'll do as Deb is doing and have all of them on offer on my sidebar.

Debz is FTF just your scheduling post for the fortnight?

      Have a great Bloggigesta weekend!

    3. Bloglovin and Feedly are both just feed readers, but Bloglovin also comes with the ability to "claim" your own blog, share the follow button, and keep track of how many readers are using Bloglovin. So I guess you could say it's an alternative for GFC and Google Reader. I personally prefer it over Linky and NetworkedBlogs because Linky isn't connected to any feed reader (which means those followers don't really follow your post) and NetworkedBlogs is through Facebook, which I don't want to muddle with my blog stuff.

FTF is separate from Fairy Tale Fortnight (though they have the same abbreviation). Every week I try to do a "Fairy Tale Friday", and so I'm trying to get ahead and schedule them. Posting for Fairy Tale Fortnight is completely separate.

  4. We chatted about this last night on Twitter, but I think you should add your posts to B&N! I know you said you had a bunch, but it can be a goal that you do 5 a day or something. Sometimes I'm surprised to be the first reviewer, or the 10th, when Amazon has 2,949 or something! :)

Good luck with all of your goals!!!

    1. I'll definitely start adding my reviews to B&N! I might have to save that task for another Bloggiesta, though.

  5. I'm planning on spending a bunch of time today looking into what option I am going to go with for the replacement of Google Reader. I've heard good things about both bloglovin and feedly but haven't looked into them myself yet.

    Good luck with your goals!

  6. Good luck with Feedly! I've never used it (I'm a recent BlogLovin' convert). I hope you check out my Bloggiesta To Do List or join my mini-challenge about getting involved! Plus, you can knock out the "comment like crazy" one :)

  8. Yes, discussion posts...I have to work on those too. And I'm making my way through Feedly as well! Hope your list is going well. :)

  9. Good luck! I hope you accomplish everything you want to... I had to keep my list short this weekend, but I also had my own personal Bloggiesta a few weeks ago and took care of a lot of blog maintenance at that time...

Here is my Bloggiesta To-Do List, such as it is!

  11. Hi Debz, I gotta say I'm very impressed that you're a teenager and have accomplished so much on your blog. I struggle to keep up with mine and can't get nearly as much done. I'm following your blog on bloglovin now so I don't miss any fairy tale and fairy tales retold goodness, some of my favorite stories.

Here's my Bloggiesta list and updates if you'd like to stop by http://momssmallvictories.com/bloggiesta-2013-goals/

Have a great rest of the day and Bloggiesta!

  12. Good luck with all of that! I've had no problems at all with Feedly - seems pretty self-explanatory. :)

I love comments, and I promise I read every single one. I do my best to reply to all your meaningful comments, so come back in a couple days to see if I have! And if you see that I've responded to others comments and not yours, it's just because I've been struck dumb by your awesomeness! And if you leave me a link to your blog, I'll try to stop by and comment!

This is an award and tag-free zone! I'm honored, but I don't have the time to pass it along )=
